Default Port Forwarding = High Speed?

I've been hearing all about this thing called "port forwarding", and I kind of figured out from www.portforwarding.com, what it is.

I am on Airtel Unlimited 999and obviously download a lot from torrents and from the web too, my download speeds range from 28-33kbps. I have a Touchtel DSL ADSL Modem manufactured by RealTime (Airtel gave me this modem almost 2 years back). My question is will this "port forwarding" stuff increase my download speed dramatically?

If it does then can someone please take the pain for spoon feeding me with the answers? A step by step guide will be really appreciated.

Port forwarding has nothing to do with speed.. it just opens the connection on port.
WILL NOT INCREASE THE SPEED.

As far as I know port forwarding is helpful when a particular port is blocked by your isp and you want to use it.. But yeah its got nothing to do with the actual speed of your internet connection even remotely.

port forwarding has nothing to do it yr internet speed, but it has everything to do with yr torrent speed. if yr client is not configured to revice communitctions frm peers yr d/l spped and yr upload speed is going to suck.

check if u r getting a NAT error in yr client if u r then yr ports are not configured properly.

yr down speed looks fine for yr connection what 's yr upload check that.

forget the typos am 4 down rite now
