i am unable to open any torrent sites using my firefox torrent finder plugin.
IN usa comcast,at&t,verizon have done the same thing.
this goes against net neutrality

You can always try out proxy sites and second thing that i can easily access torrent sites and i am not facing any such problem. Is any one else near your area using the same connection and he is also facing the same prob? if yes then i think airtel is blocking and if not then i think you are having some issues with your Pc.

I am uisng Airtel and till now Airtel have not blocked any torrent site. I myself, like to download lots of stuff from various torrent sites and i can access all of the sites without any problem.

to my knowledge no internet provider in india blocks torrent sites , but some anti virus software like kaspersky ,trendmicro and AVG etc do block some torrent sites. which torrent sites do u use ?

If you use BSNL then you would notice that they had been banned from several torrents sites such as minonova,org.

I had used BSNL for submitting some torrents to that site and i got error that my ISP had been banned from contributing on the site.

I can access all of the sites without any problem.

Try using a proxy or try port farwarding. I very much doubt it that airtel is blocking certain sites as it would be illegal for them to do so without an order from the government bodies. I guess they must be either blocking certain ports or throtteling your speed.

Hi, i have downloaded and uploaded torrents from a lot of sites. mininova, demonoid, piratebay, etc. I have complete confidence that airtel is not blocking the sites.

You have to tell us what other software you have installed. virus scan, spyware checker, or parental control...?
