Default Throttling in airtel broadband

I have heard that due to few users choking the whole network resources, airtel has started throttling the speeds of the users. Has any one experienced such a thing? I have been getting consistently slower speeds since many days due to this. I think that they have been throtling me.

It was from a friend of mine who is a very heavy downloader. He has experienced that the moment he downlaods more than 200mB his download speeds starts to suck!!

OMG thats bad man... either they have to provide better service or atleast try to. see, thats the problem with the private service providers. and airtel is known for such crappy games it plays... just like the plans in mobiles , they keep changing things once they think they ve acquired enough customers and its us who loses at the end !

It happens everytime I cross 200MB that my speeds drop by atleast 5-10kBps.

even on plan 999 I get less speed

You shoulod get together and start a class-action lawsuit against them. They haveno right to throttle whatever amount you download unless you are going outside the limits of your plan

Whenever you signup for any new service, you should read the fine print. Many times they will include sentences saying that they can do anything they want without you having the right to complain or ask for compensation. This is ofcourse encoded in legal jargon so that you cannot understand it.
So I don't think a lawsuit will win against them as you have already signed a contract with them.

Yes but if the contract included terms that violate they law then it isnt valid anymore.
