Bsnl has allocated $750 million for the upcomming bsnl wimax roll out which is sceduled to be launched soon. Bsnl wimax has plans of a nationwide rollout unlike private operators like reliance and sify who are just concentrating on densely populated areas like big cities and business hubs. Bsnl wimax is going to bring a lot of changes in the rural India by enabeling anyone to connect to the world wide web from anywhere in India.

I am just guessing that bsnl wimax will use the same towers as bsnl's mobile phone services use which are already present in the remotest of areas even going up to J&K's mountains.

Will have to wait for the commercial services to be up and running.

What do you think about bsnl wimax? is it going to be an instant hit or ?

Tech savvy are surely waiting for good service wimax as they need it but not much scope as i see in villages and remote areas because many are still unaware in the city itself about this new technology and will take some time before people adopt it..many say old is gold and are satidfied with cheap limited cable internet and wont prefer wimax as they might not think it necessary.

I think its takes time to available in each corner of Gujarat.But on the first phase i think they are trying on dense areas like ahmedabad,ankleshwar and many more areas.its available in ahmedabad now best part is unlimited download & NO hidden tarrifs its just fixed tarrifs for a month thats it. i think wireless is the futer people can accept it but it takes some time for it.
