Exclamation New Broadband installation

I live in theoutskrt of Chennai - Guduvanceri, I dont have any option like airtel r rel. So I have to go for BSNL.

I have applied for a landline connection, they said i wil the telephone in 10 day and will take 2-3 months for broadband. When I applied for phone, i was asked to pay Rs 50/- as processing fee bythe person incharge there.

I know that doesnt come into any account but I had to give.

Now my question is:

1. Will I have to pay anything else when they come to install the phone or the broabbnd.
2. how mauch I have to pay (with reciept) while installation of broadband.
3. how abt the service of BSNL.
4. Will I be getting the broadband connection in the next 2-3 months as they said r..........

I found some are experts around this community, so u all must be knowing better abt the so called BSNL BB.

There was no need to give that guy Rs50 in the first place... I suggest you complain about this guy and get him out of his job first.

Bsnl normally provides a broadband connection within 15 days as far as I know. As you were told it would take 2-3 months I think they dont have any free ports at your exchange and they will have to wait for a port to get freed either when some one discontineus his or her connection or they bring in new equipment.. in either case there is no guarantee that you would get the internet connection in the specified amount of time.

Rather then waiting for so long I suggest you take up a wireless connection like reliance data card or tata indicom plug to surf or even airtel or hutch gprs connection if you use their mobile services.

Another option is going to be there soon when reliance wimax is launched in chennai.

The private sector provides you prompt service as compared to BSNL.They have target time assigned to them they to do the installation part within that span. This is my personal experience.
