Hi everyone I am facing a strange problem.I have a huawei quidway wa1003a modem so the download speed i am getting varies from 60-80 kBytes/sec.However if i install my friend's modem on the same system then i get 200KBytes/sec.So i thought the problem is in my modem.But when my friend installs my modem which is huawei quidway wa1003a,then he gets max speed of 200.So what to do.Where the problem lies.Plz help me..

Hummm... I am completely clueless. I think we will have to wait for someone else to enlighten us about what the cause could be.

By the way why dont you guys just swap your modems so that both of you can get the max download speeds untill we get an answer to this weired problem.

How are you connecting your modem? usb or the ethernet cable?
My guess is that its got something to do with the driver version you have installed and thats if you are using usb...

Try using an ethernet cable which would eleminate the need of modem drivers and there wont be room for error as far as version of driver is conscerned.

No Sir I am using ethernet cable.

In that case I dont have any more ideas.. its really strange and logic doesnt say that its possible... I would be very interested in knowing what the issue is.

We gonna have to wait unfortunately.. in the mean time if you find a solution or the cause of this issue please post a comment here aswell so anyone reading this thread in future with the same problem can get some help.
