Hi,
Is it possible to connect with two separate Dataone 256K connections (two phone lines, two routers and two accounts, two LAN ports on the computer) and join them to make a fat pipe of 512K connection on windows platform??

I dont think so, because BSNL will provide you with different IP addresses for both lines and as of now according to me 2 IP addresses to a machine is not possible.

I think it’s possible, because a lot of people used to do this with Dialup and ISDN connections. Let me check this with a couple of techie friends of mine and I will post the technique by the end of the day.

I gues you are talking about teaming softwares.. they do work but you can only use one connection at a time. Its good for networks where you have a certain number of computers hooked up to the net and you want to distribute the bandwidth but if you are trying to get 512kbps speed for a single download its not possible.. You can run two seperate downloads of 256kbps on the same machine.
Its not worth the hassel to be honest coz the only teaming software I have evr seen is pretty costly although they run a trial aswell.

Ok found the following information on this subject, basically what you are looking at is NLB = Network Load Balancing to route different applications using internet through the two connections. Problem is you not only need software/hardware that support this but also your ISP network should support it as well. Here are couple of links for more info:

But why 256X2 when you get a 2MBPS connection??

2Mbps connection does not give you unlimited download and so if you want higher download, you have to go in for lower speed. The idea floated by the member is good,'cause it may save on your bill but I don't think it is feasible.
