Default Old dialup days! :-)

When I think about the days when I used to have a dial-up connection, I have a smile on my face. The MTNL's dial-up (or any dial-up connection for that matter) used to be so slow that even Goggle.com or Yahoo.com used to take so many seconds to open. Seriously, you need to have a lot of patience if you want to work on a dial-up connection. And it proves to be very costly if you use it even for a few hours in a month. Plus, you cannot use your phone for that while.

The broadband connection has brought a revolution of sorts.

That is so true web hunk
I remember the days back in 2000 I used to pay more then 5000 a month for call charges and 800-900 per month for the isp charges. The calls used to be charged by the min and it used to addup to a lot of money by the end of the month and the speeds used to suck..

Bsnl and mtnl has done a great job to bring broadband to the masses in India.. Keep up the good work babu log

Hahaha... Last line was quite funny!

Hmm.... 5000 is a huge amount for that speed!

I used to keep looking at the watch so that I know how much time has passed and I used to use the dial-up when my parents were not at home so that I don't get scolded.

Yeah, we should really thank MTNL and BSNL for providing broadband.

When we were still stuck to dialups America was progressing with ISDN. BSNL or MTNL never bothered to comeup with affordable ISDN plans. Rather when Airtel and otherISPs ended up dragging their a$$es up to the ground zero then only they realised that they were loosing out customers.

But considering the speed you get on Broadband in India is very low. I have been to UK last year and saw their fast internet. Guys, 10 Mbps isvery common for them.

But I do remember my old day's of Dial ups. Because my father has paid many heafty phone bills for this.

I agree that ultra high-speed Internet connections are common in UK and US. I know people in US who can download 256 MB in less than 10 mins. That's mammoth speed.

Hahaha... The dial-up days would be a sour memory for your father in that case.

Don’t remind me of those days, high phone bills and dad shouting cause of them and I tearing my hairs off, because the connection got dropped after thirty minutes and I would have to restart the download of the mp3 file all over again!

Well I used to download individual songs those days, but could never ever dream of downloading a complete album. Heck a trip to Nehru Place and Rs. 150 for a MP3 cd used to cost way less than downloading a complete album those days, not to forget the trauma of getting disconnected at the last moment.
