Default USB or Ethernet?

I have though on this stupid question sometimes that whether I should use USB or ethernet. USB seems to be slower but it hides my PC's MAC address, but ethernt is faster and less prone to error than USB. Also I have got current sometimes from USB

Which one do you folks prefer?

Is it odd behavior of USB's and Ethernet's? I have found USB more useful and this work better than a Ethernet for me. I think this is some typical hardware compatibility issue. I might be wrong though

My ISP told me that they prefer me using ethernet one, even if they have the USB one available. I am not sure what is the reason behind this?

USB is not actually slower, it will have the same speeds as ethernet but will have slighly worse latencies. Also using USB doesnt make a difference in terms of MAC address as the addess shown on the net is your routers MAC address.
If you get current from USB's you should get your earthing checked and if that is not the problem then get your device over to a proffesional, something is wrong with it.
