don't expect them to drop in near future. The main problem for this to happen is that may companies do not provide good services which is not that much good. So, people mainly go only for the companies which have good internet connections which means Airtel as they have nice service and reliable connections. Airtel is the ruler and everyone likes them. I dont thik that in near future any company will improve and we will see any tough competition which ultimately will drop prices.

I hope that they do it a little soon. The prices of the present boradband connections are very high as compared to what we are getting.

People in USA and Europe get a lot higher speed for the same price what we pay in India.

Mtnl broadband at Delhi has reduced their prices so I would expect all other isp's to follow suit if they want new customers else Mtnl will grab a large chunck of the new customers.
After mtnl , bsnl is going to reduce their prices as well so there is no way other isps can keep their prices at levels they are at right now.
