Default MODEM PRICES for Adsl Broadband?

How much did ur modem cost? Please post it along with model and make.
I am using Mtnl rented one .. which is working fine for past 2 years without any problem! So thought why to pay 50Rs rental for a thing which hardly gets corrupted!
Also my friend with Bsnl Connection said Wifi router of Bsnl is available for 1200Rs .... can anyone tell do they sell these at there exchange or somewhere else I have to go?

You can buy these in the open market no need to buy it from bsnl as there is no diference in the hardware.
You can use a lot of different modems not just the models and makes BSNL broadband guys supply.

Choose the one that best suits your need and buy it from anywhere you want. You are right in saying that there is no need to pay rental as I have been using two modems in UK for the last more then 4 years now and they are running fine with no issues atall and I havent seen anyone bitching about his or her modem breaking down or not working properly... its the splitters which go bad first.

Parminder Thanx for replying however problem is that Wifi router with inbuilt modem is not available for less than 4000Rs in Wholesale open market like Nehru Place in Delhi .... whereas Bsnl range starts from just Rs1200.

As far as modem is concern i think one should purchase the old one from the market so that the charges can be avoided, man 12oo is too much for it, and who would want to pay 50 rs extra every month.

I believe in buying policy rather than renting, i can't afford to pay extra bucks every month, so its better to purchase it, i think buying a modem gives you an ooprtunity to keep it.

I think renting is fine for me as i dont intend to use my broadband connection more than six months, so i can afford to pay 50 bucks rental everymonth, i cant afford to pay 1200 aty a strech to own it.
