From last month MTNL Delhi has launched a new package which will give you a speed of 2mbps with no data transfer limits at night and will have a limit of 1.25gb during the day.
Te price is only Rs749 per month and the old night unlimited package is been discontinued from now on.

This package was launched in Mumbai first and now at Newdelhi as well.

On the MTNL's website it is mentioned that the previous plan:
[B]Stands closed from 16.8.2007 for new registration and migration[/B]

So, I suppose that the plan is still open for existing members but no new registration or migration is possible. The speed is up to 2mbps so MTNL might not offer complete 2mbps. However, it's still a very good plan and quite beneficial for those who do lots of downloading at night.

it does say upto 2mbps but they do provide you with a full 2mbps line but the only problem is the distance from the exchange and network congestion and a few of my friends who have this plan say that they normally get a speed of about 1.5mbps at night which isint too bad I would say and the price is too good for this much speed.. almost comparable to USA and Europe.

Yes, I agree that you get good speed and it's for sure better than the previous 256kbps connection. And if you get a speed of around 1.5Mbps, it's more than enough and I might switch to this plan sometime in near future.

wow, nice plan i suppose... might interest my friend !! he just needs to pay rs 100 extra so as to get ths ! great .. maybe i would change too if this palc came sooner to my place. but there was unofficial news that bsnl is going to increase its speed to 8mbps and also provide unlimited for 250 bucks at 256 kbps...

maybe these will attract better customers. anyway if this plan comes anywhere before that of bsnl's its would be good !

Thats great news, currently I am using the 590NU plan and would definitely switch to it. After all the speed would be better than the current plan I am currently on and even if I get a speed of 1mbps at night, it is more than enough to download movies.

This is probably a limited internal offer to appease some official whose grandson wants the fastest means to use youtube.

Well, if they offer this plans in my city then i am surely going to buy a new connection from MTNL. downloads at 2 mbps for every night for a complete month is going to be great.

this is really good. I hope that they offer a full unlimited plan in which we can download full day and full night.
