Exclamation Reliance Wimax in Pune

There has never been anything as horrible as RELIANCE WIMAX ever. The connection stopped working within 10 days, the equipment was defective. In the beginning, the customer care didn't even know what Wimax was exactly, I was once asked by them as to how I had a Reliance Broadband connection if I didn't have a Reliance phone !!

Guys, don't even consider it, you are in for a nightmare.

They gave me the wrong User ID, there is absolutely no co-operation between the Customer Care guys and the local company called 'Agarwal Telecom' who supposedly handle the matters in Pune. They are a bunch of mis-managed idiots.

It seems Reliance has outsourced the work to different people who are totally incompetant.

That is really bad story about Reliance but I am shocked to know about the behavior of customer care with you. Although it is difficult to cop with errors and problem in the start of anything but Reliance is not a bad name in communication world. Would you tell me about your connection time or date? I think we should wait a bit before spending some money on it. I have browsed many consumer forums regarding wimax but there is nothing about it so I am confused to read more reviews on this.

Thanks for all the story. This will help a lot to take some decision for all the users here. I have read something about DHCP there on your blog and I think DHCP protocol is being used in Linux so are you using Linux?

DHCP is not patform dependent. all the authentications happen using DHCP these days.

Exclamation Fool the fools who opt for Reliance thats their motto

Nothing is resolved and Reliance is pathetic, they are putting up with their trend (seen in Reliance Mobile).

Their very design has many flaws, DHCP (a never ending story), ip conflicts, packet drops, average speed, auto disconnection, windows based(fucking unreliable) servers

Max attainable speed is never more than 50% of the plan (if you go with upto 2 mbps plans). I gaurantee nobody can ever show (any time of the day) a speed of more than 1 mpbs or a little more in reliance plans where they say upto 2 mbps.

Try BSNL it will always be more than 2 mbps even if they say upto 2 mbps

I am sure its just the choice of those who have no other option.

Trust me, BSNL inspite of being governemt’s is far more reliable and works twice as fast as any wimax connection.

Wimax will never be there when you urgently need internet or atleast you can’t be sure it is there and how long it will be there.

The customer care is just sitting their to fool around people and listen to our abuses.

The only thing they do well and in time is disconnect the service asap after due date, because most of the customers don’t pay, coz theservice is not OK.

If you have an option like AIRTEL or BSNL in your area never ever go with reliance.

Summarising its just for those who seldom use net and who have no other option (like BSNL and AIRTEL). Never go for it if you intend to work using the connection, it will never be there when you need it. Morever they will never be able to fix the problems nor even for 1 year or so to come.

Don’t trust me ? Try it out yourself.

Thumbs down Pathetic Customer Service

Reliance has the most pathetic customer service. When I logged in a complaint, no one contacted me for two days and when i checked back, the complained was in resolved state and they said the engineer had called me and when I said it is working now, they made the complaint as resolved. I found it shocking that no one had called me and they are not bothered to investigate or give me a proof.

Guys, this is one service you should never choose in life , when it is connected and all is well, the speed is good. But when it is down you lose 10-15 days in making it work again.. that too after shouting and yelling at the customer service.

After this experience, I chose to kick them out and took an Airtel connection. Till now Airtel has not given me any problems. But I was happy to kick the Reliance connection.

I understand the frustrations...But this technology still needs some evolving..Nobody is sure hows it gonna behave once we have a full blown customer base....Field trials is one thing, but customer service is another..I am hopeful of this technology, but lets wait n see

There are some technical constraints like RF environement, interference, spectrum band etc...If installed properly, with a good technical planning, your wimax will not give any problems..The problem is that these guys who comes ofr installing, arent good enough....more later
