Hello,

I live at bopal area of Ahmedabad. I am planing to buy Reliance WiMax. Please tell me is it really reliable product in ahmedabad.

I am using Tata Broadband since 4 months but now its down since 5 days due to some server reasons in my area. my business is totally dependable on internet.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

About 3-4 months back Reliance wimax had this upload problem and users were not able to send any e-mails atall and were not able to upload anything but that issue has now been sorted and there are a lot of reliance wimax users who are happy with their service but like every other ISP in India reliance wimax will give you trouble as well coz none of our ISP's are capable of providing a no downtime broadband connection.
Reliance wimax has one known issue right now and that is getting an ip assigned is a problem when you try to connect and it may some times take a long long time before you get an ip assigned.

Its still better then a lot of other ISP's I would say.

If you have got airtel broadband available where you live I would say go for it and if not then I guess you are not left with many options except for reliance wimax and tata wimax and I have had my share of problems with tata wimax and I would not recomend tata wimax in this life time.


Do let us know what connection you got and a little review of how it went if its not too much of a hassel for you

bsnl wimax service is started in gujarat and specially in AHMEDABAD and BARODA, if any one want to get demonstration of this service that how it's working and want to know about the terrif plans etc. they can call on their customer care number. YOU CAN USE THIS SYSTEM FOR 1-2 DAYS FOR FREE IN THIS DEMONSTRATION PERIOD. cheeeers!!!!!

Hey you must now try Aircel Wimax, Aircel being the first to introduce Wimax in India commercially, has a global presence too, and now that its moving into Gujarat, I think you really need to try this one.. And Asha, its servers are meant to stay up 99% of the year, with all latest softwares to sort any problems for wimax users...

Can anyone help me to get wired broadband/wiMax connection at my residance.
I have tried for BSNL, Tata, Sify, Airtel and Reliance but all refused me for wired connection. I am staying at suncity, bopal.

Asha, can u please let me know what type of internet connection you are using right now. and hows your review about that connection in our area.

If you a have a GPRS/EDGE enabled phone o an other high end phone use Airtel prepaids 401 Rs Unlimited Internet.

Your GPRS/EDGE services will be activated after about 2-3 days from the date of payment and you would also have to call customer service to get GPRS/EDGE settings on your mobile.

You can also use it to connect to the internet from your PC provided you have the appropriate hardware and software. For Ex. I use a Micro USB cable and Nokia PC Suite to connect to the internet using my mobile.

As an added benefit no roaming charges are applicable and so you can roam throughout the country and still remain connect.

The speeds depend on Network Congestion. I get around 8-15 KBps (64 kbps to 128 kbps) speed during daytime. Less than 6 KBps at evenng and max speed about 20 - 25 KBps late at night.

THIS HOWEVER IS NOTIN THE FACT THAT YOU CAN SCHEDULE A DOWNLOAD ON YOUR MOBILE AND JUST FORGET ABOUT IT. (IF YOU A HAVE A GOOD MOBILE). AT THE SAME TIME ITS FREE COUNTRY WIDE ROAMING CONNECTIVITY CANNOT BE IGNORED.
