Thumbs up Reliance WiMax - Two Thumbs Up.

And today i got my Reliance WiMax installed at 1536 kbps.I took the 1536 kbps plan at 2700 per month but i have opted for 8041 quarterly.

I have read many reviews here about poor connectivity but believe me if you have a BTS Tower within 2-3 KMs, you will not have any problem.

Here is the primary Results which have been setup by the Reliance installation guys.

They set the CINR at 22 & RSSI at 62 from which i was getting the above speeds but After they leave my house , i did Re-align my SS & connected to another tower with better values which is below.I wanted a better CINR than the Reliance configured 22 but i did not want to argue with them. So, i did it myself & am happy about it. Max Transfer rate of 304 kB is awesome for a line where i should be getting 192 kBps & i am sure there were no other Reliance users nearby who downloaded the same torrent at the same time bla bla bla.

The new speed test result is Freaking awesome for a 1536 kbps line & my Ping has got much improved too ( 71 to 63 ) .

I know there are lot of people here who just hate Reliance because they are not satisfied , either for their location where WiMax Towers are not present nearby or maybe any other reason.
But I am too much satisfied with this.Reliance WiMax ROCKS believe it or not.

I went for the Static IP plan. So, there's no Login/Disconnection for me.Connected 24x7 without dropping a single connection & I have configured the connection to be worked with my Linksys WAG120N Wi-Fi Router.

New & improved Speedtest result.

I do not think any other ISP in India can provide this speed on a 1536 kbps line.Rcom rocks all the way.

Hey, Ive recently got Reliance Wimax on the 600kbps static ip plan, though they've alloted my ip, my installtaion guy cudnt tel me the consumer no. and he told me that he just had the workorder details and the static ip details.

Since then ive tried retriving my consumer no. thru the Reliance customer care but they were help less too .,on contacting the sales guy he asked me to wait for the 1st bil to be generated.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

You will need to wait for the first bill to come. You will also be sent a copy of your first invoice to your registration E Mail.

Btw you know that the Subscriber ID is the most important here right ? And mind you Customer ID & the Subscriber ID are not same.If you already know your Subscriber ID , then you don't have to worry about your Customer Number because it takes a bit time to update your info in the Reliance database. So your first invoice will contain the Customer Number.

You can try emailing them at " broadband@relianceada.com " or by calling them " 1800 3000 7777 " if you have not done that already.

Let me know.

I downgraded my plan from 1536 Kbps to 1 Mbps & still getting the same speeds which i used to get on my old plan.

Put the RJ45 cable to your Router's LAN port. Now you can login to your Antenna's control panel by typing 192.168.1.1 on your browser & using root as username & telsimawl as password. There will be an option called Scanner Channels. There you can disconnect from your current tower & connect to another tower to get more solid bandwidth and/or speed. You can see your CINR & RSSI levels here in the Antenna section. As soon as you connect to another Tower , your CINR & RSSI level will change.Try connecting to another Tower unless you find a better CINR & RSSI level.

CINR should be more than 20.Highest is 30.And RSSI should be less than 70.CINR as high as possible is good but RSSI as low as possible is good.Connect to another Tower & see if that Tower is providing you better levels. Also post your speedtest.net test result here.

Hope it helps.

Put your LAN cable ( RJ45 Cable ) in your Router's LAN port.Port Number 2/3 or 4.Then you can access Antenna's Control Panel.
