Reliance is one of the new players in the broadband service provider market. The Reliance broadband service, BroadNet, though somewhat popular, has not been able to come at par with the bigger stalwarts in the internet service industry.
The service provider’s biggest USP lies in the flexibility it provides its users by letting them select the required bandwidth online and pay accordingly. This feature helps users save by using high bandwidths only when needed. Users can select from a wide range of speeds between 100 Kbps and 1000 Kbps. Moreover, the BroadNet service calculates charges per-minute against the per-hour calculations done by some other broadband services. Another unique feature provided by Reliance is bonus bandwidths. It claims to provide extra bandwidths in BroadNet, with 100, 300, and 600 Kbps speeds instead of the typical 64, 256, and 512 Kbps speeds. Apart from the above-mentioned features, the Reliance BroadNet service offers e-mail service and a 10-MB storage space. Like other popular internet service provides, Reliance’s BroadNet service has a 24x7 customer support. Reliance PC Protect, powered by F-Secure is available with the broadband service at nominal charges of Rs. 50 and Rs. 100 for the basic pack and the family pack respectively per month |

I took a reliance connection but i've terminated it recently... to tell the truth, the company may be big but the internet services suck...
The speeds are often slower than promised. The connection IP address is often faulty which gives a problem connecting to the net. In addition, if there is any problem, customer service people tell you they'll solve the problem the next day or in a few days but easily take at least a week to respond. They keep giving false reassurances. At times they put you on hold and keep you waiting indefinitely to give u the complaint number... Their billing isn't honest either. They claim to have a Rs. 750 per month flat plan for unlimited downloads and if u take a 6 month subscription, 1 month in that will be free, and that the customer will have to pay the cumulative bill after 6 months which will account to about Rs. 660 per month. At least this is what was told to me before selling the connection. However, they started billing me monthly, and not 750 but about 840 to 850... I'd never recommend reliance to anyone - such poor quality connection, such bad customer service at such a high price... People who have hathway or MTNL triband are much happier.... |
