I took this connection from Pune and it took me 2 weeks to get it activated that too after several phone calls with the providers. After activation I worked for almost 15 days and on one fine day I am not able to log in.
I can say that the speed is awesome compare with the other providers which is available in my area. After the activation I tried to log in to their web page and I am not able to. I cannot view my usage, etc. In between after 15 days my services got barred. I tried contacting their poor customer services, but I am not able to. All the time these executives are busy, even if you call late night 3 AM. Then I send mails and was keep on following with the same.. but I was not getting any kind of response. After few days I received a mail from them stating my bill is some 1500 bucks. What a surprise!!! I used that only on free hours which was mentioned and hardly morning hours for 1 or 2 hrs... ![]() I wrote a mail asking for the clarification and I received a response stating my bill is only 556. I havent received any kind of intimation from them, nor the bill. They just barred my connection. I came to know about this after making a call to customer service.I paid the bill, after that it took more than 24 hrs to get it reconnected and after the payment they send me the bill.. and to my surprise that bill amount was only for 13 days.... and again after a week my connection got disconnected.... I keep on trying to connect to their customer service ova the phone as well as e-mail... but no response. At last I got connected with an executive and he told me, my usage has exceeded my credit limit and I have to pay 1600 and that too they have charged late payment fee of my previous bill. I am not receiving any kind of bill or intimation.. neither their website was not updated with my usage, then how will I know my due dates???? Since I paid 3500 I had no other option left other than paying the amount. In order to utilize at least I have to use this crap thing for atleast 2-3 months, ehh!!! ![]() I paid the amount and again it took more than 24 hrs for activation.. whenever I call up they simply raise requests.. other than that they wont do anything... My connection is hardly 2 months old and now there are more than 20 SRs raised. They will send duplicate bill and update the usage only after the service termination. The speed is good, but the later part is worth... If you are ready to accept these challenges then this connection is worth... |

Think twice if you want to go with reliance. You must remember customer is not 1st priority at Reliance.
They can bill the way they want, they can stop service any time with out notification. Service may not work correctly as described. You can not do any thing against all these. I am current subscriber of Reliance Netconnect+ Yes, it is very good broadband (wireless) for real IT business person but at cost and mercy of Reliance. When I purchased this I was promised with top up package of Rs.199 per month for unlimited night internet access (that is 10 GB data transfer). But that top up package was available to me after three month. Imagine if you are using 3.1MBPS connection 2.5GB or 5GB per month will make enough sense. During package upgrade and getting top up package I end up paying Rs. 5000 to Rs 10000 per month. On and off any time I found I am not able to connect then I use to contact reliance, then I found I need to pay usage charges since my credit limit has reached then only I will be able to access again. Some time this happen twice or thrice a month. There was no notification in this regard and usage reporting system of reliance Oh my God, it is from technology company. You need to calculate to figure out and many time you will not be able to access reports. I am currently on national level access plan. I was out for a meeting in another city and found there I was not able to connect net (it was a big problem). While I was coming back I was not able to connect from anywhere near Delhi aprrox. 40 KM to 250 KM. I contacted Reliance customer care they told those place high speed is not available in will be low speed only. I told them I was try that too but it was saying no response form remote computer. Customer care executive told me then you should have contact us at the same time, now we can not provide you solution. Whenever you see this problem that time you need to contact us. Some one ask them if some one on business meeting how will it be possible for the person to leave meeting and start getting solution from reliance. So my experience with Reliance was always so poor and every time I found they do not have any value for customers. Earlier was having 1X CDMA data card and mobile from Reliance and every time I end up canceling. I have no more options available for high speed internet connection so I have to fight every day with them and keeps paying more and more. Last edited by kjes; 08-31-2009 at 08:39 PM. |

I too facing the problems with Reliance broadband connection. Even if I need to change my plan, they don't change it immediately. We need to wait till next billing date. The frequency of disconnection is high and the data transfer is also not good.. It only works in few areas..

If you start using you tube, video calls like skype, or voice chat which is perfectly legal in all cases your bandwidth of 10 GB will go for a six within matter of minutes. Also which dumb ass has told you that on P2P network only pirated material is available. What about linux software which is free of cost and open sourced too. P2P is used to distribute legitimate software and reduce bandwidth costs. Have you also not heard about creative commons license. I do agree with you that lots and lots of piracy material is available on the P2P networks, but do you have any valid explanation as to why the Ipad has not yet been officially launched in Our Country yet. Are we too a third world country for Apple Inc(Sic..) to be ignored. As and when you do get enlightened about all these issues....you will no longer feel about it not being an issue in India. |

During this vacation when I was in India, on 01/12/2010 I went to reliance office (Gopakumar's Building ( Xxi / 129 / 2 ), Nh 17, North Paravur, Ernakulam 683513) to take a wireless broad band internet connection. Immediately one sales person came and when I told him about my requirement he told he will come to my home with the mobile device so that the availability of the signal can be verified. So I came back home. Within one hour, as promised he came to my home with a device and gave me the net connection. Even though the promised speed was 3.1 Mbps, when I tested it was only around 150 kbps. But it was not a problem as I could do the basic things at this speed.
Initially I clearly told him my requirement, i.e., I do not want to down load much data but I need to use it for long time. Then he suggested a 3GB day and 10GB night per month package and agreed. At this time he collected Rs.2400 as the device charge plus registration fee. He didn’t give me any receipt for the cash I paid and I have not signed any contract. (As I was not in India for many years I thought this is the way now). He just collected a copy of the ID card as proof of address and left. Everything was ok for five or six days after that they disconnected my net connection without any warning. Then when I called this person he told my usage was HIGH ! So I have to first settle the bill and then only they can reconnect (up to that time my total usage was only less than 200MB). Since I was in urgent need, I agreed and next day the same person came with a bill of Rs.1500 ( A bill without any details about the usage or how they charged) When I asked him he told the actual amount was around thousand but just added Rs.500 extra (for the future usage) !!! Anyway I paid the amount and told him that I need a detailed bill. But after that he never turned up. Nearly after one week they again blocked my connection. After that I called this person. Then he told they called to my land phone to verify the address but nobody was there to pick the phone ! Now it is around one week they have not re-connected the net . I have been calling him at least twice every day. Whenever I call he will say he will come now itself but he never came. One day I went to his office at Paravur to terminate and return the device but they told it can be done through him only. I tried to call the customer care office (Reliance Communications Ltd, A & P Arcade, S A Road, Kadavanthra, Cochin - 682016) but no response. Fortunately, whenever I call, this fellow will at least pick the phone. Last time when I called, he told the Rs.1500 bill was because by mistake they have set my connection under a different plan !!. Anyway for few days’ net connection I had to pay Rs.4000. Initially they told when I terminate the connection and return the device they will pay back Rs.1500. But now they are telling that, since they could not verify the address (I don’t know how they tried to verify the address and what they mean by that !) and they have already terminated the connection . So nothing is to be done from my end (I.e., keep quiet and forget about the money that I paid… they are like this !) GOOD LUCK |
