You know the feeling! You are sitting on the machine trying to get a connection. It is keeping on dialing. After 20 attempts you get a connection. You go to yahoo.com. Then you click on mails. You wait for 10 minutes. Then you get a damn error message. You are disgusted and has to get off the machine. That is how sify dial up works.

Its not just sify dial up but sify broadband has the same story it is down more often then not and some times it is down for days together.

sify broadband worked wll for me for over 2yrs...you have to see that in case of sify broadband its not sify which sux it is the local cable provider which provides it....sometime ur local cable wallas are good and 99% uptime is there and sometimes they suck...so thats the differnece...

Yes, but the company should also have a SLA with the local cable guys. If their service falls below a certain standard, then they should have to pay for it.

They most certainly have a sla with them but if any downtime occurs, the cble walla have to pay sify not the suffering customer, so the customer never wins

believe me, it took around 20 minutes to register on this site and post this message on a sify(256 kbps) connection.

Thats a long time indeed. I quit using sify a long time ago and wouldnt suggest anyone to go with them.
