Sify did a few trials at Mumbai about a month ago of their mobile sify wimax but it is still under trial and I haven't heard of any news about its launch yet so will have to wait for some time I suppose.

What were the results of the trial? What speeds were being offered and have any of the people in the trial written anything about it?

I am also curious to know about the results and I am hoping something very good about this service. Although my expectation are not too high but it will would work better because it is big hope for mobile people.

I think Mobile wimax reccomendations/ammendments(802.16e) are still not frozen....Besides, the spectrum concern is also there..Last I heard that BSNL will launch wimax directly with mobile wimax in 3 states...mah, AP and Guj...It remains to be seen how successful will it be.

Eventhough the wi-max is being brought after such a long delay, it will serve dual purpose if mobile-wimax is introduced as soon as possible which, will be useful for people on the move. Apparently it may be comparatively a costlier affair, but definitely will serve the purpose.
